Krisha Montmorency

 
 

Krisha Montmorency is a native of the Napa Valley and currently lives and teaches in San Francisco. She received her Bachelor of Music degree with honors from Sonoma State University where she studied under Linda Ghidossi-Deluca. She also studied in England at University of London’s Royal Holloway College with Neil Ferris. Her love of travel and the desire to share music with audiences has led Krisha to perform with various groups in England, Ireland, Italy, Canada, and China. An orchestra music enthusiast, Krisha was a violinist in the American Philharmonic - Sonoma County for 15 years. As one of its founding members, she served as Principal 2nd Violin and on the Board of Directors from 2008 - 2011. She has also served as Principal 2nd Violin for the Ukiah Symphony and is currently a member of Symphony Parnassus.

Bio

As a music teacher with a background in traditional and Suzuki methods, Krisha focuses on students having fun while developing musicianship and a love of the art of violin playing. Following the completion of her education, Krisha instructed strings ensemble classes at the Santa Rosa Charter School for the Arts and The Healdsburg School.


Krisha has more than 10 years experience managing, coordinating, and contracting musicians from string quartets to full-sized symphonic orchestras. She served as the manager for the Santa Rosa Symphony’s Youth Orchestra and Young People’s Chamber Orchestra from 2011-2013 and was the project manager for American Philharmonic’s tour to China in December 2010. She is currently on the Youth Orchestra administrative staff of the San Francsico Symphony.


When Krisha is not performing or teaching, she enjoys traveling, cooking and hosting dinner parties, wine tasting, and photography with her husband.
